Access Rooflight FAQ

Can You Walk on an Access Roof Light?

Depending on the type of rooflight, it is possible to walk on some durable window panes. That being said, despite our complete trust in the quality of our OptiLook skylights, we don’t recommend you walk on them. You know the old adage: It is always better to be safe than sorry.

How Do You Install a Rooflight on a Flat Roof?

It is possible to install a skylight in a flat roof, and contrary to what you might’ve heard, the process is really simple. Residential-rooflight manufacturers, including Optilight, require a slope, and you can create a slope by simply installing a site-built or prefabricated curb. After that, the installation process can continue as normal.

Can You Put Windows in a Roof?

Yes, you can put windows in roofs: In fact, they are a great way to increase both natural lighting and fresh air inside your home — regardless of the type of the roof, you can probably install one of our excellent OptiLook skylight windows in it.
